NIBC Bank celebrates 65th anniversary on 31 October by offering free entrance to Hague museums
NIBC will celebrate its 65th anniversary on Sunday 31 October. To mark this milestone, the bank is giving a gift to all the residents of its home city of The Hague: free entry to 20 museums during 'NIBC Open Museum Day'.
"Our bank has been part of the community in The Hague for 65 years now, so we thought it would be nice to give something back to the city. The Hague boasts so many interesting museums and it's a pleasure for us to help open them for free on our birthday. That way, everyone can enjoy some of the cultural treasures in which our city is so rich," said Jeroen Drost, Chief Executive Officer of NIBC Bank.
Marjolein de Jong, culture councillor for the municipality of The Hague, congratulated NIBC on its 65th anniversary and reacted enthusiastically to the initiative. "It's fantastic that NIBC is giving this gift to the citizens of The Hague and that so many museums are participating. This is a unique opportunity for all our residents to visit the city's wonderful museums free of charge. The initiative demonstrates how Hague-based companies feel a strong connection with this very special city and its residents. The municipality of The Hague warmly welcomes initiatives of this kind."
A diverse range of museums will open for free on 31 October. The following institutions are participating in the NIBC Open Museum Day: De Affiche Galerij, Escher in het Paleis, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, GEM, Fotomuseum Den Haag, Haags Historisch Museum, Huygensmuseum Hofwijck, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Letterkundig Museum, Louis Couperus Museum, Louwman Museum, Mauritshuis, Museon, Museum Beelden aan Zee, Museum Bredius, Museum Meermanno, Muzee Scheveningen, Museum voor Communicatie, Panorama Mesdag and Stroom Den Haag.
A campaign will begin on 14 October to invite residents of The Hague and surrounding areas, as well as others who may be interested, to the NIBC Open Museum Day. Further information can be found on a special website: www.nibcopenmuseumdag.nl
