Technology Media & services organised a CEO Lunch during Frankfurter Buchmesse

11-15-11

The annual Frankfurt Book Fair (Buchmesse) is the most important market place for books, media, rights and licences and therefore THE meeting place for authors, publishers, booksellers and agents. This year, the Buchmesse took place from 12 - 16 October and was a perfect occasion for the NIBC Managing Board to organise an Executive Lunch for 20 CEOs from the media Industry on 13 October.

The CEOs were invited to lunch at the Literturhaus in Frankfurt to listen to a speech given by Ian Grant, Managing Director of Encyclopædia Britannica, UK. An important observation made by Ian Grant was that the capital structure of publishers will change, due to the fact that enormous amounts of capital are tied into the warehouses for slow-moving book titles. With the development of electronic publishing, this capital will be released for creative and marketing opportunities.

Ian Grant's most important observations can be seen on the attached video of an interview with him held on 12 October at the office of NIBC Frankfurt.
