NIBC supports initiative Holland Park to redevelop outdated and vacant office buildings

Corporate News -

NIBC has arranged seed capital and provided development financing for a large-scale area development close to Amsterdam that will transform an outdated and vacant business park into a new residential area, Holland Park.

Located in Diemen Zuid, neighbouring Amsterdam to the east, Holland Park is based on similar projects by Dutch architect Sjoerd Soeters, such as Amsterdam’s Java Island and the Sluseholmen district in Copenhagen, which have proven to be highly successful residential concepts.

Sixteen vacant office buildings, consisting of approximately 100,000 sqm floor area, will be demolished and will be redeveloped into approx. 3,000 affordable apartments. Once completed, Holland Park will offer canal-side living to approx. 5,000 residents, with an abundance of green space and easy access to shops, restaurants and cafés as well as convenient transport links into the city. The area’s urban design captures the feeling of Amsterdam city living.

With this project, NIBC supports an initiative to redevelop existing oversupply of offices in the Netherlands into sustainable and attractive residential area. As a member of the Dutch Green Building Council, this is a goal the bank is pursuing.
