Fast financing helps Dutch baker Pandriks expand abroad
Corporate News -A quick, one-stop financing solution for fast-growing Dutch baker Pandriks is helping it meet the increased demand for its high-quality, additive-free ‘bake-off’ breads and enter new markets in Germany and Austria.
Founded by experienced baker Albert Hendriks, Pandriks makes pre-baked bread products with no additives, E numbers or accelerators for Dutch supermarkets and food retailers such as Lidl, Dirk, Jumbo and Deka. Its unique way of producing healthier breads on an industrial scale has seen demand soaring in the 2.5 years since it started. To keep pace with its growing order book, the company needed to expand production.
With a combined senior and subordinated loan from NIBC, Pandriks acquired a bakery and an organic flour mill in Germany, increasing its production capacity and opening up the attractive German organic food market.
Thanks to NIBC’s financing expertise and in-depth industry knowledge, the cross-border transaction was completed within weeks. “This is a fine example of how we partner with companies to help them grow,” said Maarten van Bon, relationship manager and responsible for the bakery sector at NIBC.
NIBC supports a number of clients in the Benelux bakery sector, including Vleems/Driesprong, Hearthside/VSI, Burton’s biscuits and Dahlback.
With NIBC’s help at this defining time for the company, Pandriks now has the means to substantially increase its sales in the coming years and become Europe’s leading producer of high-quality ‘bake-off’ breads.
