NIBC closes add-on acquisition facility for Dümmen OrangeCorporate News -
NIBC’s Food, Agriculture, Retail & Healthcare team is pleased to have successfully completed an acquisition financing facility for Dümmen Orange, formerly known as DNA Green Group. Dümmen Orange is the world market leader in breeding and developing cut flowers, pot plants, perennials and bedding plants. It will use the financing to fund two add-on acquisitions of its niche competitors Terra Nigra and Rijnplant.
Dümmen Orange is consolidating the fragmented floricultural breeding market with a strategy that combines organic and acquisitive growth. It was founded when Fides/Agribio, a non-core Dutch division of Japanese beer brewer Kirin, merged with German, family-owned Dümmen Group. With this lending facility NIBC joins the existing bank club in supporting the group’s acquisitive growth.
These latest acquisitions provide synergy benefits and further strengthen Dümmen Orange’s footprint and global network. Rijnplant specialises in flowers and plants such as anthurium, bougainvillea and heliconia, while Terra Nigra specialises in breeding gerberas and roses.
Dümmen Orange is a new client for NIBC, in line with our strategy to increase our activities for leading companies in the North-Western European agri sector.
