NIBC’s Commercial Real Estate business delivered strong H1 results, showing that our chosen strategy is paying off

NIBC looks back at a successful start of 2022, in which our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) segment delivered a strong performance and showed almost 7% growth to EUR 1.626 billion. Over the past six months, we supported clients such as DM Equity Partners, IC Campus, Zadelhoff, DHG, Annexum, Mobion Group, Bata Real Estate and Jovi. This strong performance illustrates that we continue to be the trusted, entrepreneurial financing partner to our clients.

Jan Willem van Roggen, Head of Commercial Real Estate: "We are very pleased with the good results in the first half year and despite the fact that we are facing higher interest rates, inflation, problems with the supply of building materials and shortages of experienced personnel for the construction subsector, we also see plenty of growth opportunities for the future. With both CRE and OIMIO, we are well positioned with our personal approach and quick decision-making, to support property developers and investors in financing commercial real estate projects.

NIBC’s overall Asset-backed & Specialty financing segment, including the commercial real estate business, grew by 15.5%, driven by a strong origination in all asset classes. These strong results confirm that our chosen strategy is paying off. Over the past half year we reinforced our position providing asset financing to both individuals and companies, ranging from private housing to rental property, commercial real estate, vessels, infrastructure, cars and equipment. In line with the execution of our strategy, we have sold our Offshore Energy and Leveraged Finance portfolios.

Within our CRE segment, we focus on commercial real estate with a ticket size of EUR 15 million up to EUR 50 million within the Netherlands and within the United Kingdom, where we focus on Construction Financing for Student housing and Buy to rent housing.

OIMIO
OIMIO focuses on financing commercial real estate assets and projects within the Netherlands between EUR 2.5 million and EUR 15 million.
