Paulus de Wilt

Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Managing Board

Paulus de Wilt is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NIBC Bank N.V. since 7 April 2014. From 1989 to 2014, he held several positions in retail and corporate banking at ABN AMRO. His latest position was General Director Retail Banking in which he led the integration in 2010 of the retail divisions of ABN AMRO and Fortis. From 2007 to May 2009, Paulus was CEO of NEWbank, a carve-out of ABN AMRO Corporate Banking that was sold to Deutsche Bank. He was responsible for ABN AMRO’s retail banking activities, including small business clients of the newly-acquired Antonveneta Bank in Italy in 2006 and 2007. Paulus holds a master’s degree in Business Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Herman Dijkhuizen

Chief Financial Officer, Vice-chairman of the Managing Board

Herman joined NIBC in October 2013. He started at KPMG in 1979. From 1992 to 1996, Herman operated as an expatriate partner in Germany, responsible for Dutch KPMG clients. Back in The Netherlands, he served many clients, especially in the Financial and Publishing Sector. Leading a number of large international assignments brought him to the United States on a regular basis. In 2006, Herman joined the Board of Management of KPMG in The Netherlands, as from 1 October 2007 as Vice-Chairman and per 1 October 2008 as Chairman. In addition to his function as CFO of NIBC Herman also serves as member of the Supervisory Board of VU and Chair of the Audit and Housing committee of VU and also as chair of the Supervisory Board of Unicef the Netherlands.

Reinout van Riel

Chief Risk Officer, Member of the Managing Board

Reinout joined NIBC in August 2016. He started his international career at ABN AMRO and RBS from 1995 to 2013, where he held several senior positions in credit portfolio management, global transaction services and as Head of Recoveries & Litigation EMEA. Lastly, Reinout served as Chief Portfolio Officer and Member of the Board at Propertize. In this position, Propertize completed a legal demerger from SNS Reaal and the risk and control framework was redesigned. Reinout van Riel holds a master’s degree in civil law from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Saskia Hovers

Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Corporate Banking Sectors

Saskia joined NIBC in 2001 and assumed responsibility for the Corporate Sectors after having been responsible for the Asset & Project Finance franchise. She has also led the sectors Oil & Gas and Shipping at NIBC. Before starting with NIBC, Saskia worked at MeesPierson and Fortis in a variety of roles.

Michel Kant

Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Retail Banking

Michel joined NIBC in 2001 and undertook various Corporate Banking roles in The Hague and London. In 2008, Michel assumed responsibility for launching a savings initiative currently known as NIBC Direct. Under his management, NIBC Direct developed retail savings, residential mortgages and brokerage in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium with a focus on niche products, such as the recent launch of buy-to-let mortgages. Michel Kant holds a master’s degree in Economics of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.

Caroline Oosterbaan

Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Corporate Banking Products

Caroline joined NIBC in 2013 as Head of M&A. Subsequently, she assumed responsibility for NIBC’s Corporate Client teams. Caroline’s background is in M&A, strategy consulting and entrepreneurship.
