VSB sets the pace in Germany’s renewables revolution
Founded by owner and CEO Andreas Dorner in 1997, VSB Holding GmbH is an established and experienced player in the onshore wind industry across Europe, particularly in Germany and France. The firm’s core business lies in developing onshore windfarms and providing services to third parties, including EPC and O&M. Over the years, VSB has invested over EUR 1.3 billion and delivered over 450 projects, collectively capable of producing some 1,200 MW in electricity annually.
As a leading independent company, VSB helps creating an environmentally compatible and resource-saving energy supply by developing and realising technically and economically high-quality projects.
Within the context of Germany’s ambitious renewable energy targets and the introduction of an auction mechanism for renewable energy in 2016, VSB managed to secure attractive sites for its wind farms, reinforcing its confidence and historical success in the sector.
To support VSB’s ambitions, NIBC’s Infrastructure & Renewables team was appointed mandated lead arranger in October 2017 to coordinate and structure a new financing package. Existing lenders to VSB, including their house bank, joined the financing structure, with NIBC also acting as agent.
The NIBC team developed a tailor-made financing solution which addressed VSB’s specific needs as a project developer. With solid financing in place, VSB can now focus on developing its business and on further cementing its excellent reputation across the European onshore wind industry.
We have experienced NIBC to be a highly professional financing partner who exactly knows the needs and business model of a project developer. In that way we were able to develop a financing structure, which is going to accelerate the further development of VSB. - VSB Holding
