At NIBC, we seek to contribute to the well-being of the societies in which we operate. To this end, we encourage our employees to volunteer their time and expertise to local community projects.
Under our matching programme, NIBC matches funds that employees have raised for a good cause or time they have spent supporting charities. The matching programme is open to good causes that are officially recognised as not-for-profit fundraising organisations.
NIBC NGO Boulevard
NIBC has started using its office space to support good causes in an initiative called NIBC NGO Boulevard. The aim is to support NGOs by providing modern office space and facilities. Four civil society organisations are currently operating from office space in NIBC’s headquarters in The Hague.
Major Alliance (Maatschappelijke Alliantie)
The Major Alliance aims to build a better society by providing funds so that companies and the government together can jointly increase the impact of their social initiatives. The Alliance develops collaborative partnerships between the private sector, public sector, and NGOs to create impactful solutions to the most challenging societal issues. Missing Chapter Foundation
Missing Chapter Foundation wants to ensure that decision-makers take into account the interests of children in their decisions. The Sovic Foundation develops innovative concepts and projects for addressing and resolving social and societal issues. They believe that that everyone should be able to participate in society and should be given opportunities. Bank in the classroom
NIBC participates in the 'Bank in the classroom' project, a part of the 'Week van het geld' (Money week), a national initiative to teach primary school children about money management.
SDG Netherlands aims to create awareness about the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and encourage sustainable development throughout the Netherlands. They encourage everyone to think about the impact of the choices they make, support efforts towards national SDG priority areas, and embrace the full range of SDGs. For a number of years, NIBC employees have supported Stichting Vitalis, an NGO based in the Hague that coaches children from vulnerable backgrounds. Stichting Vitalis offers these children some extra care and attention and tries to prevent that they might eventually need professional care.
The NIBC Innovation Lab aims to encourage employees to think beyond their current job responsibilities. Its ambition is to generate, assess and implement non-conventional ideas and initiatives. Projects can be run entirely in-house or in partnership with third parties. The Innovation Lab seeks to connect entrepreneurial people from all parts of NIBC in an environment with as few bureaucratic obstacles as possible.
Employees in the UK show their support for Solace Women’s Aid, an innovative, grass roots charity which provides vital services in London in the fields of crime reduction, health and social care, with a primary focus on supporting women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.
In Frankfurt, employees support ‘Mädchenbüro’ an intercultural institution for teenage girls and ‘Johanniter’, a non-profit association that provides support services to the homeless.
