The teachers of the Jan Ligthartschool primary school in The Hague work with great enthusiasm and pleasure on the future of children and ultimately on their own future.
To ensure that the students perform as optimally as possible, they work from a solid foundation of solid language and numeracy education. With education every child gets a solid basis for a good future in society.
Because of the Coronavirus, the schools are closed and the students have to work from home. This requires a lot from the teachers, parents and the students themselves. But this also requires equipment that is suitable for studying at home. And not all students have access to such equipment. As NIBC we want to support the children in need in these challenging times. That's why we donated 60 Microsoft Surface laptops that are no longer used by the bank and can be given a new purpose.
"In these strange and uncertain times, a bright spot for the children of obs Jan Ligthart and obs Max Velthuijs.
60 laptops have been donated to the schools in the city centre/painting district of The Hague. The children in these neighbourhoods often do not have the possibility to do their homework on their own computer. They often have to share a laptop or computer with a brother or sister.
Through this donation we can make several children very happy. The children can now get to work with the homework that is provided online by the teachers. They can also get in touch with the teacher on these good laptops through all kinds of means, such as Teams. The remote contact with the teacher is very important in these days.
Thanks on behalf of the teachers and children of obs Max Velthuijs and obs Jan Ligthart. A great action!"
